MAKING DOUALA 2007-2013, the traveling exhibition of the Triennial SUD, addresses the issue of public space in the city of Douala, Cameroon

Through art, the triennial for public art Salon Urbain de Douala creates a sense of citizenship in the city of Douala, Cameroon's capital. Contemporary art inscribed into public space effects the daily life of the citizens as well as the perception of the city. The artworks established by doual’art in the city of Douala over the last 20 years helped building this sense of citizenship and are actually making the city.

Making Douala 2007-2013 shows how this was, still is and will continue to be done, through a variety of stories, films, and images of the city and the artworks that together highlight the making of a city through the realization of public art.

The exhibition shows works by: Philip Aguirre (BE), Kader Attia (FR), Bili Bidjocka (CAM/FR), Mariela Borello (CND), Loris Cecchini (IT), Aliette Cosset (F)/Isabel Forner (FR), Lard Buurman (NL), Kouo Eyango (CAM), Frédéric Keiff (FR), Faouzi Laatiris (MAR), Lucas Grandin (FR), Aser Kash (CD), Koko Komegne (CAM), Christina Kubisch (DE), Salifou Lindou (CAM), Michèle Magema (FR/CD), Ato Malinda (KEN), Lional Manga (CAM)/Philippe Mouillon (FR), Younès Rahmoun (MAR), Tracey Rose (SA), Joseph-Francis Sumégné (CAM), Pascale Marthine Tayou (CAM/BE), Ties Ten Bosch (NL), Kamiel Verschuren (NL), Hervé Yamguen (CAM), RAW Foundation (NL/IRL/SA), Hervé Youmbi (CAM), and others.
